Just over a year ago, H&M finally launched in South Africa. I’ve been hooked ever since. The developing fashion sector in South Africa has led to to the launch of many international high street brands such as Zara, Topshop, Forever 21 and River Island. H&M has done extremely well in South Africa as it keeps up with current trends and provides great value for money. As a student, a trip to H&M is a great way to update my wardrobe without breaking the bank! Obviously, I could not resist a quick trip to H&M for their end- of- year sale.
Here are a few goodies that I have picked up in the past few weeks. I am very excited to wear them during these warm summer months!
1. Cute summer straps
This versatile, baby blue top is perfect for a casual summer look. The material is of a high quality and feels a lot more expensive than it actually is! I will most likely pair the top with little white shorts for a ‘beachy’ look or some comfy denim jeans as shown in these photos.
2. The LBD
You can never go wrong with a little black dress. This stretchy knit fabric makes it so easy and comfortable to wear. It can be worn with tights in the winter or strappy sandals in summer. It can also be formal or casual. This dress can do everything – which is why it should be a staple in everyone’s wardrobe.
3. Distressed denim
Another staple to anyone’s wardrobe should be these light-blue, distressed denim shorts. Not only are they beyond comfortable, they are great for a firm bottom look (wink, wink). They are perfect for the beach, or paired with some stylish white trainers and a cropped tank top.
4. The not -so-ordinary grey tank
This grey tank had me sold me with it’s heavenly fabric. It’s a perfect fit with a knit-like texture. I love the low scooped back and the straight neckline. This top can literally be paired with anything! (Including the jacket below)
5. The ‘Detail is everything’ jacket
As soon as I picked up this jacket I immediately fell in love with it. The unique patterns give it such an incredible texture that is very eye catching. Although it has a unique pattern, it is still very easy to style. I thought it looked great with my new grey tank. The jacket can also be worn in winter with a little jersey underneath or paired with a simple dress for summer evenings. I was pleased to find a jacket that wasn’t too thick but would still keep me warm at night in the summer. So far, its been great wearing it to a cocktail night with the girls!
I love these looks!
